During the summer, I met up with photographer Tom Medvedich to have a conversation about him and his work. We discussed how he got started, his favorite things to shoot, and more. This is only part one of two so press play, enjoy, and then stay tuned for part two. I apologize for the poor audio quality, I am working on getting new equipment to solve this long overdue problem. This is the eleventh episode of a series entitled 'Flipping The Lens.' The idea behind the series is to take the folks who are usually behind the camera and turn the lens around on them to see what they're like. EPISODE 1: VINNY PICONE EPISODE 2: TONE EPISODE 3: KING TEXAS EPISODE 4: ETIENNE (SCOREMORE) - PART 1 EPISODE 5: ETIENNE (SCOREMORE) - PART 2 EPISODE 6: KELLEN DENGLER EPISODE 7: SQ MUNRO EPISODE 8: EVAN TETREAULT EPISODE 9: BROOK BOBBINS - PART 1 EPISODE 10: BROOK BOBBINS - PART 2 For a class at school, we had to do a one-minute video incorporating "elements of time, how you think you've changed, who you think you are, how others may view you, and the unfolding nature of your own identity." I felt it was only appropriate to embody I.D. and my artwork in this piece. Big thanks to my good friend Teo Almonte for shooting the footage of me, to my creative pal Theo Martins for doing the voiceover, and to my parents for sending the little kid sports pictures. Directed and edited by myself. Enjoy! A little over a month after the official end of summer, and about two months after the last clip of this video was shot, here is a short video recap to give you a glimpse into my summer. It certainly does not embody everything I did, it's just a random collection of clips thrown together to provide some insight and to create a fun visual. Hope you all enjoy! A little over a year ago I sat down with the young Connecticut native Philip Post to discuss his brand Dertbag Design. Since then he has released several impressive collections, made more money than one of his substitute teachers, and has continued to enjoy his teenage life (remember, he's only 17 now). I met up with Phil recently in Manhattan to discuss what exactly has changed in the past year, the first post of Dertbag on Hypebeast, and much more. Press play & enjoy! This is the tenth episode of a series under Boundless Dreams TV called Youngest in Charge. The series is about a young generation of talented beings who are already on a path filled with making moves along the pursuit of nothing less than greatness.
EPISODE 1: GREAT SCOTT EPISODE 2: MIKE WAXX & MIKE CARSON (ILLROOTS) EPISODE 3: MODI (DCtoBC) EPISODE 4: JABARI EPISODE 5: JASON (HERDS OF THE FATHERS) EPISODE 6: PHIL (DERTBAG DESIGN) EPISODE 7: KOBI (THE BRAND WITH NO NAME) EPISODE 8: MATT COHEN (ITS BONGO BOY) - PART ONE EPISODE 9: MATT COHEN (ITS BONGO BOY) - PART TWO Head For Cover had their first headlining show the other night. The up and coming Brooklyn band took over the stage at Webster Hall and gave the crowd a great show. I tried something new with the video footage above: I had other people get extra footage since at a concert I can only be in one place at a time. So thanks to my friends Teo Almonte and Leo Gonzalez for providing some extra aspects to the video. The majority of the footage used is mine, though, and I edited the whole thing too. Below are also some photos I shot during the show when video wasn't being recorded. Relax, press play, look through & enjoy! This is a stop-motion I did as a school project for my Design Form class. We had to take our object that we had been working with all semester, which in my case was a collapsible shot glass (one from Russia, at that, which I grabbed as I was running out the door to class the first day). We then had to use stop-motion / animation techniques to make our own visual. Here's what I came up with. It's my first time ever working in this type of style, I'm pretty happy with how it came out. Press play, have a laugh, and enjoy. Here's part two of my conversation with photographer Brook Bobbins. In this part we discuss his favorite things to shoot, the future, what he looks for when he presses the shutter button down, and more. If you haven't seen part one, click here. Press play, relax, and enjoy! If there's any photographer you've seen at concerts in NYC over the past few years (primarily hip hop), it's most likely been Brook Bobbins building up his portfolio and shooting for friends and famous artists alike. The Bronx bred photographer has a knack for connecting with artists and capturing special moments. Although he's most known for the moments he captures on stage, his special relationship with many musicians allows him to freeze moments in time off the stage as well and share it with excited fans online. His website, who-shot-ya, has a plethora of photo galleries from 2010 until now. It might only be a few years, but the amount of shows and amazing shots he's got is more than many others get in their lifetime. A few months ago I linked up with Brook in back of the store Community 54 in L.E.S. to discuss everything from his start, the musicians and events he's liked shooting the most, and more regarding his story. Press play above to watch and stay tuned for part two. Enjoy! This is the ninth episode of a series entitled 'Flipping The Lens.' The idea behind the series is to take the folks who are usually behind the camera and turn the lens around on them to see what they're like. EPISODE 1: VINNY PICONE EPISODE 2: TONE EPISODE 3: KING TEXAS EPISODE 4: ETIENNE (SCOREMORE) - PART 1 EPISODE 5: ETIENNE (SCOREMORE) - PART 2 EPISODE 6: KELLEN DENGLER EPISODE 7: SQ MUNRO EPISODE 8: EVAN TETREAULT Here's part two of my conversation with Roger from The Masked Gorilla. We covered topics such as his non-traditional college experience, the blog scene, being a manager, and more. If you missed part one, check it out here and enjoy the videos! |
