Here's a drawing I did that I never threw up on the site, but I always enjoyed.
No Picasso masterpiece, just a drawing for the fun of it. Still HD, just Hand-Drawn this time. As promised, here are some new drawings:
A canvas of the well-known duck (only with one head this time however) as well as a drawing of a jelly cartoon character (that some of you long-time visitors may remember). Only two pieces, but more to come. - Hand drawn visuals are making their way back, drawing by drawing! It's been a little bit since I posted some new drawings. Soon though, all that will change. Prepare for the return of the crew of cartoon characters and possibly a few new faces. So even though mainly videos and photos have been posted as of late, it must be remembered that Imagination Detonation isn't only a site for digital art. Hand drawn visuals on the way.
Since I don't believe I ever made a substantial post on this, here's a "Glance Back" at my first piece in a gallery -- going back to last summer. Harbor County Progress, in Union Pier, Michigan, is a nice facility that put together a great art show fairly soon after the conclusion of the election, in celebration of Barack Obama's victory. I had done a "Hope Wins" commission piece (pictured below - hanging in the gallery) for a friend in Michigan and we decided we should submit it for the show. Eventually, I heard by word of e-mail that the piece had been selected for the show. My first piece in an exhibit (and at only 15 years of age when it was accepted, and 16 when it actually went up in the gallery -- not bad!). I am very happy to have been apart of this exhibit, especially since the theme was an important and historic one. I was lucky enough to visit the gallery while visiting friends in a different area of Michigan, which is not insanely far away. It was humbling to have my work set up next to the smart, and often controversial, artist known as Shepard Fairey. Whether you like his work or not, he's still an important artist to this generation with what he's done with both the OBEY campaign as well as the iconic and forever famous HOPE election poster. It was a nice experience and was important for me so that I can truly see the progression of my journey from start to finish. Here's some more of the work that was on display for the exhibit. Some really top of the line artists gathering to make sensational art. Group shows can be a magnificent occasion, if executed properly.
2010.
As this interesting decade comes to an end, many find themselves reflecting back upon these last ten years and as usual more importantly this past year in particular. However, though that is not necessarily a bad thing, it's more important to focus on the future. This is a new start. Start dreaming. Dreaming big. Bigger than the universe. Think limitless, no boundaries. This new year also brings in many new changes to the site. Every single page on the site has been altered, even if it is just a little detail. I'll let you all search for those on your own but the more important new features I would like to mention include: -New Home Page Image -New Banner (yes, the photo in the background is mine) -New photographs up on both Photography sections -New mug up under Merch An Dice -New newspaper cartoon up under The Twilight Zone Also, as I touched upon in the previous post, expect the unexpected from I.D. in 2010. I'll leave it at that. Well, I'll finish with a toast. Here's to 2010, sure to be an incredible year filled with good times, memories, and happiness. Well, there's some new site additions and changes. Here they are..
(P.S. All the photos I post on the blog, ex. the one above, are all taken by me unless I state otherwise.) I can't believe I haven't updated in over a month. Between traveling, school, and other things I've been really busy lately. That is no excuse though, and I will be updating more frequently now. I have a batch of photos I am going to post fairly soon that I am currently sorting through and editing. Anyway, I will provide you guys with a look into upcoming additions to the website.
Photography - I have a new way of going about my photography. Though I have always tried to take unique and original shots (and of course I will still continue that), I am also incorporating a few new concepts. The photos will now be a bit more abstract, and some might take some thinking for you to see what the photo is really of. I will now be editing the photos even more heavily to make art out of the photo. I'm quite happy with how they have been coming out so far. I'd like to also thank a photographer (to be named later) for constant inspiration. He also does basically the same concept idea I mentioned above (where I got the inspiration for this new idea) and is honestly my favorite photographer. Artwork: Arsenal Of Characters - I have to add Dumingo in the AOC section. However, I also have two new characters brewing who I am currently working on to make better. Look for them fairly soon.. Canvases - I haven't been really doing much canvases lately, as I'm experimenting with different methods instead. However, I might be doing a canvas with a friend within the coming months so if that happens, I might post it. Actually I am also in an ongoing collaboration with Art Spellings. That won't be completely finished for a while though, so more information on that at a later point. If you want to see the start of it, I think I posted a picture in either Canvases or The Twilight Zone. Merch An Dice - I definitely have plans to work with more mediums, but I am still figuring out what exactly to try next. Look for a new wallet design up soon and there will be more over time as well. The Twilight Zone - You never know what will come up in the Twilight Zone..stay tuned. Traveling Ducks - Unfortunately, throughout my travels this summer I was unable to find a traveling duck card to bring with me or unable to make a new one, each time. Too bad, there would've been some good shots! Oh well. As for the future of TD, we'll have to see. I will try harder to definitely take one with me next time. That's it for now..I have other plans for the future of I.D. as well. They will be revealed in good time.. Oh, by the way, make sure to check the website on October 1st! ;) Best wishes to everyone. There are some teaser pictures below! I would like to start off by once again apologizing for the lack of updates. Throughout June I was extremely busy with schoolwork, including finals and regents exams. Now that everything is over, I can once again focus on my art more. There will be a much steadier stream of updates. |
