If I made this post into a list of things I'm thankful for, it'd stretch far beyond anybody's liking. I'll just say this:
Don't just be thankful on this one day, be thankful year round.

While the annual array of awe-inspiring multi-colored leaves continue to hold their ground through the end of November, the holiday of Thanksgiving arrives at a time when I'm sure everyone won't mind a break. While your TV most likely switches from the Macy's Day parade to thanksgiving football (where the Lions will most likely get demolished once again) and you sit around with your family and/or friends - take it in. Enjoy it.
If I made this post into a list of things I'm thankful for, it'd stretch far beyond anybody's liking. I'll just say this: Don't just be thankful on this one day, be thankful year round. Here are some Halloween visuals that I captured at "The Blaze." It's a wonderful event that the good folks over at Van Cortlandt Manor throw every year in October, consisting of over 4,000 individually carved pumpkins set up around a big park. Visiting at night and seeing them all lit up is always quite an experience. Shouts to Renee, a family friend who is one of the many people that assist in putting this whole extravaganza together! She even made the Pirate (the 4th picture under this paragraph)!
Enjoy the captures & I hope everyone has a great Halloween! 2010.
As this interesting decade comes to an end, many find themselves reflecting back upon these last ten years and as usual more importantly this past year in particular. However, though that is not necessarily a bad thing, it's more important to focus on the future. This is a new start. Start dreaming. Dreaming big. Bigger than the universe. Think limitless, no boundaries. This new year also brings in many new changes to the site. Every single page on the site has been altered, even if it is just a little detail. I'll let you all search for those on your own but the more important new features I would like to mention include: -New Home Page Image -New Banner (yes, the photo in the background is mine) -New photographs up on both Photography sections -New mug up under Merch An Dice -New newspaper cartoon up under The Twilight Zone Also, as I touched upon in the previous post, expect the unexpected from I.D. in 2010. I'll leave it at that. Well, I'll finish with a toast. Here's to 2010, sure to be an incredible year filled with good times, memories, and happiness. The warm taste of hot chocolate burns your tongue as you lay down by the crackling flames to share good times of laughter and joy with your family and friends. Outside the warmth of your log cabin, a steady but pleasant snow falls to the earth and a white blanket begins to settle in over the ground. Seconds later, warm baked goods of all sorts are brought fresh out the oven for all to devour at their leisure. Holiday tunes flow through twenty-inch speakers and all is right.
Well, there you go folks. A little Christmas story to, in a way, go along with what in my opinion is a perfect image (the one at the beginning of the post -- credit to google images/ckcchapman on photobucket). To start off, you have the fireplace - an essential. Then, the well-decorated Christmas tree to put you in the holiday spirit. The beautifully built and set up log cabin (paintings, decorations, and all). The currently calm dog laying down to absorb the warm rays being sent off by the fireplace. Then finally, the snow-covered land through the window with the deer peering in. Anyway, there's not much I.D. news to report here, except that there's a Santa drawing on the home page that will be up for all to take in and enjoy until the New Year. Oh, and look for a nice change or two to start off the year and as it progresses there will be even more great projects, photographs, and new characters from the realm of Imagination Detonation. That won't be all though, as I.D. will continue to expand and explore new creative mediums and ideas throughout the year as well. As the semi-epic blizzard hit New York this weekend, it once again set the holiday mood (well, for some). Shenanigans in the snow are a part of this wonderful season as well. Christmas is a time that should be thoroughly enjoyed. Savor the time you spend with your family and/or friends. Well, to wrap up what is probably my longest post yet, I wish everyone a very happy holiday season and a merry Christmas as well. Take care, relax, and enjoy! Well, last night (the 18th of December) was the final evening of Hanukkah. Hope everyone who celebrated it enjoyed! Here's some shots I took in honor of one of the great holidays that fall during this joyous season of the year. I show love and support for both of the main holidays. Enjoy!
The timeless Macy's Day Parade. Football. Preparing and enjoying a feast with your family. Being thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! After I made the Halloween post the other day, I decided to do a canvas. I haven't done a canvas in a really long time after such a long run of them (mostly last year). Well, I'll actually delve into this matter briefly. The reason I did this was because I wanted to try new mediums and experiment with other options, cross current boundaries if you will. That's important, not just to art but to anything you do or life in general. Always try new things and experiment for you should realize that if you put your mind to something there are no boundaries to what you can truly achieve. Your imagination is powerful enough to detonate any walls or obstacles in your way. Enough rambling, back to the point of this post. The canvas is based off of one of my personal favorite Halloween shows/episodes. The episode I am referring to is It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. To me it is a classic Halloween episode. Anyway, in one of the scenes, when Linus and Sally are waiting for the "Great Pumpkin" on Halloween night, Snoopy arises from the pumpkin patch. For some reason, I just liked the visual from this stopped capture.. ..and decided upon trying a spoof of it. Posted below is the final product. Pretty happy with how it came out. Hope you all enjoy as well.
There is a new image on the home page (a photo taken by me) as well as a drawing at the end of this post (which will later on be posted in Arsenal Of Characters under the Holiday section). Hope everyone has a great Halloween! Whether you're trick or treating, passing out candy, or just celebrating this fun holiday, MAKE THE BEST OF IT!
Stay Safe. (P.S. The title is a play off of the Halloween charlie brown special. Also, you can click the image below if you want to see it larger!) |
